Serving South Australians since 1901 and providing a range of services this building consolidates services such as retirement living; disability respite; specialist disability accommodation; retail tenancies; community services hub; convention and meeting space, and workplace into one unique and iconic state of the art building.
Maintaining the iconic sites, place of worship services it caters for up to 10 different functions within the one building which are divided into four distinct elements:
- a function centre / place of worship
- a community services hub
- ground floor retail opportunities, and
- residential services in the provision of community based support
Its diverse ranges of services with the design of the building having public spaces and a strong emphasis on providing equitable access for all, this building pushed the parameters of the NCC Building Code Classifications and went beyond to reflect integrated systems to align with its occupants varying degree of needs.
The Independent Living Units, Specialist Disability Apartments and the Respite Accommodation go beyond the minimum NCC requirements and include the various ratings outlined in the Liveable Housing Australia Design Guidelines to better accommodate the needs of its occupants.
This Adelaide building provides respite and specialist disability apartments that cater for mild disabilities to people with severe disabilities needing full time care and yet at the same time has integrated high-quality residential apartments that can support such range of disabilities.
